Dosha in Ayurveda

I wanted to share this beautiful concept of dosha, stemming from one of the oldest traditional healing practices called ๐—”๐˜†๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ

Doshas are forms of energy that is present in everyone and everything. Each dosha is a combination of 5 basic elements :

Ayurvedic healers believe that imbalances in doshas/energetic forces is what causes pathology/diseases to occur in our bodies.

Doshas are classified into three categories:

So how do I incorporate this in my medical practice?

At the heart the Ayurvedic healing lies one key concept: the pursuit to understanding oneโ€™s constitution and spirit as part of health and well-being.

I think this pursuit to understanding one's constitution and spirit is ultimately what is needed to create a balance of physical body, mind, and consciousness.

Until next time,
